Most cinematography coverage online is essentially marketing. Camera manufacturer relationships determine what gets reviewed. Lighting brand sponsorships determine what gets demonstrated. The result is an information environment where actual gear performance matters less than commercial relationships.
This site exists outside that pattern. Every breakdown is based on hands-on shooting. Every recommendation is based on actual production performance. Affiliate links exist where products genuinely deserve recommendation, never as the basis for the recommendation. The objective is to give you the honest takes you'd get from a working DP who happens to write seriously about the trade.
